A sixty-minute session for just £5. Initially we will accept new beginners each week. This works as an exercise session and as a dance class and you can tackle the content at your personal energy and fitness level - we will show you how.
Over time you will gradually master a range of Strolls and develop your dance technique and styling.
Jive Level 1
Level 1 Jive is a sixty-minute session for just £5 and at first you will need to join on one of our regular start dates where we will teach you the basic elements to get you started: we recommend a 4-week introduction course for just £15.
At St Joseph's Church Hall
Berkshire Drive at the Junction with Park Lane, Tilehurst, Reading RG31 5JJ.
The car park entrance is on Berkshire Drive. The hall to the side of the church and the entrance faces Park Lane. Across the road the bus stop has very regular services on routes 15 and 17.
This a spacious hall has a wooden floor and ample on-site parking.

Welcome To Park Lane
Our latest class venue is well placed for our frequent social events...'The Royal' which is hosted at The Calcot Centre and 'The 3Rs which takes place at Burghfield CSA. Learn to dance here and a host of social dance nights are close at hand to practice what you learn in the classes.
Initially we are offering two dance styles - Stroll and Jive - at great value for your money. When the classes become established we hope to extend the hours further.
Both classes are suitable for beginners. For Jive we offer regular start dates and for Stroll initially you can start on any week. Our patient teaching methods are well suited to novice dancers who will each progress at their own pace. We like to emphasise the fun and will gently coach and encourage you on your dance journey. Dancers who wish to stretch themselves are suitably supported upon request once they have a good grasp of the essential basics.
We ask all of our students to be aware of their limitations and fitness level and to dance within their physical limitations. We want to take you across the fun threshold not the pain threshold. If exercise is one of your major motivations then we can show you how to put extra energy into your dancing and how to ease back when you want to. These classes will prepare you for relaxed social dancing rather than competitive dancing and so we are not expecting super-human dance ability to be the norm.
Dance develops your balance and spacial awareness, your general fitness and your ability to surprise and impress friends and family. Beyond that we are happy to keep supporting your dance ambitions.
