Beginners are welcome - schehule one of our regular start dates for a gentle introduction. No exams - just come ready to have a good time. Bring a partner or come alone - it's up to you.
Berkshire Swing Dance have spent decades in love with swing dancing and offer tuition that reflects our joy in partner dance, coupled with our understanding of movement and connection for partnering. Debra and John openly share their extensive insights gained from dancing, teaching, performing and competing, encouraging and coaching for dancers of all levels.

Whilst experienced dancers are welcome to apply via the page for their chosen class, we get great pleasure from helping complete novices, with different options to get you started.
New beginners have these options.
Option A: select an introductory offer for your preferred class: there are plenty of start dates for new dancers.
OPTION B: Apply to Pay-As-You-Go, subject to class capacity.
OPTION C: Take some private tuition to get you started.

Swing dancing is all about having fun which is why we love to teach you. Learn from a couple with combined dance experience of 60 years, spanning numerous styles.
Debra trained as a dance instructor from 1990 and from 1994 was the first Reading promoter of Swing dance which is how she partnered up with her husband, John.
Our students progress at their own pace with patient coaching and encouragement.
We concentrate on enjoying the journey, getting fitter, making new friends, feeling the freedom to play together to classy retro tunes.
